What we have here is the infamous "Black Stick" that nearly all Apple repair manuals refer to. Its a Glass filled nylon pry tool with which you can open up ibooks and ipods without damaging the cases (as long as you are careful!) Also useful for splitting mobile phones and other plastic enclosures. You may know already that its virtually impossible to prise the iBooks polycarbonate case apart with normal tools... dents and scrapes will follow if you just take a screwdriver to it ! You will need to prise open the case of an iBook if you need to replace the hard drive, pmu battery, optical drive, modem, dc board etc. You do not need one for ram or airport card install. Its also used as a "Spudger" or soldering tool useful for holding components down or lifting them up while soldering. The tool is anti static (certified ESD-safe) so is perfect for probing delicate computer electronics The Tools are new and will be posted promptly upon receipt of payment. I sell them individually, but would advise that two is the ideal number to attack an iBook with (the voice of experience) Anyhow you get the idea, feel free to email me if you have questions about the tools or how to use them. I can email instructions for iBooks and Powerbooks Apple list them in service sources as:"Black stick (nylon probe tool 922-5065) or other ESD-safe, non-marring tool" |
